Margery Alice McCarey

Born November 27, 1923 in Canton, Ohio, loving and loved younger daughter of Chester Hook and Stella Coleman Hook, sister of Mary Jane Hook Shelton (1920-2011), wife of Richard Henry McCarey, Sr. (1922-1989), mother of Richard Henry McCarey, Jr. (1945-2009) and Thomas Andrew McCarey.

Margery graduated from Massillon High School, Canton, Ohio in 1940; attended Kent State University, Kent, Ohio; and has been a resident of Berwyn, Pennsylvania since 1955. Margery was a member of the Berwyn Methodist Church.

For 30 years, Margery was executive secretary to the Superintendent of the Great Valley School District, Malvern, Pennsylvania. Margery was President of the Pennsylvania Association of Educational Office Professionals, and a member of their Board of Directors. She enjoyed traveling the country for the organization, and especially enjoyed the annual conferences at Penn State. The Nittany Lion Inn was Margery's favorite hotel. Margery was also a member of the Pennsylvania School Board Association.
