

Judy Finnell Runkle, 81, of Harrisburg, passed away peacefully at her home on June 26th surrounded by family. Born Martha Judith Finnell on July 6th, 1942 in Dayton, Kentucky to the late William Green Finnell and Thelma Marie Bedwell Finnell, she quickly dropped “Martha” and was known to all as Judy. She was a proud graduate of William Penn High School and part of the “great class of 1960” with whom she regularly lunched and attended school reunions. She also was a retired state worker serving many years at PennDOT.
Judy was predeceased by sisters Jeannie (Finnell) Petrica and Joyce (Finnell) Fesler. She is survived by her son David Runkle, two grandsons Ryan Runkle and Westly (Jess) Runkle, two great grandsons, William August Runkle and Walker Jay Runkle and two sisters Janet Gibney and Lee Painter. She is also survived by many, many nieces and nephews. Judy will be remembered for her love of raccoons and Halloween and her amazing decorating skills. But she will be remembered best for how much she loved her family and friends and her BFF Linda Panza.
The Memorial Service will be held on July 25th at the American Legion at 505 N Mountain Rd, Harrisburg, PA 17112. Doors open at 11:00 AM, service at 12:00 PM followed by lunch and the Celebration of Judy's life.
