
Shirley was born in Philadelphia and spent most of her life in suburban Philadelphia. She graduated from West Chester State College and was a kindergarten teacher with the Great Valley School District. Upon her retirement, she was a tour guide for American Heritage Tours, where she specialized in Philadelphia, Valley Forge, Lancaster, and DuPont areas of Delaware. Shirley loved books, history, travel, gardening and mostly her family and friends.
Shirley is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 60 years, Paul "Skip" Willey; her beloved children, Paul (Linda) Willey, Ann (Drew) Malizio; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Additionally, she is survived by close friends she has gathered into her family over the course of her lifetime. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 9, 2011, at 11:00 am, at Willow Valley Manor North, 600 Willow Valley Square, Lancaster, Pa 17602, in the Johnson Auditorium. A luncheon will immediately follow.
