Nancy Jane (Kornbau) Dolan, age 87, of Garden Spot Village in New Holland, Pennsylvania, passed away on August 25, 2025. Nancy was born on January 15, 1938, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Harrison D. and Agnes D. (Palmer) Kornbau. Almost four years later, she was joined by her younger brother, Harrison “Buddy” Kornbau. The family moved to Oreland, PA, in 1949, where Nancy grew up. She studied ballet and swimming, performed in school productions, and in her teens, swam on the Synchronized Swim Team at Penn State. In 1960, Nancy met Dr. John Joseph Dolan, while he was a student in Dental School. They married on July 7, 1962, at Holy Martyrs Church in Oreland, beginning a 63-year marriage marked by devotion, laughter, and family. After their honeymoon on Cape Cod, Nancy and John moved to Fort Sam Houston, Texas, then to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, where their f irst child, Kathleen Marie, was born. They later returned to Oreland, where John opened a dental practice and Nancy immersed herself in community life. Nancy was the devoted mother of four children—Kathleen Marie, Christopher John, Andrew John, and Peter John. She was also Treasurer of the Montgomery County Federation of Women’s Clubs and was elected to three terms as Judge of Elections. In addition to supporting John’s dental practice, Nancy built her own travel business, Adventures With Nancy, organizing group tours throughout the U.S. and abroad. She also worked as an exchange student advisor and District Manager for international student programs. Later in life, Nancy discovered a love of theater. What began as moral support at an audition blossomed into a celebrated acting career. She performed throughout five surrounding counties, winning awards for her roles in Driving Miss Daisy, Arsenic and Old Lace, and more. She was honored as Outstanding Woman of the Year – The Arts by the Pottstown YWCA for her charitable performances. Nancy also appeared in commercials, training films, print ads, and independent films, and worked as a standardized patient for medical schools. After retirement, she and John moved to Pottstown, where Nancy served on the Montgomery County Historic and Cultural Committee and even ran for Mayor of Pottstown. Returning to school, she earned an associate degree with highest honors, graduating summa cum laude and inducted into Phi Theta Kappa. Nancy’s adventurous spirit carried her around the world, from Alaska to Russia, Costa Rica to Morocco, and beyond. Yet at her core, she remained devoted to faith, family, and community. She was a lector at church for more than 25 years and deeply loved her role as wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
