

Patricia B. Currey, 88, of Harrisburg, Pa went to be with our Lord on July 4, 2024, while residing at Capitol Rehabilitation of Harrisburg.
She was born July 8, 1935, in Harrisburg, Pa, daughter of the late Harry E. and Arvilla (Ostien) Bangs.
Patricia’s life took her to many destinations as the daughter of a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army. Patricia was born in Harrisburg Pa and lived in Hampton Roads, Virginia, Hatboro, Pa and for a time in Yokohama Japan. Patricia attended Yokohama High School for 2 years before returning to graduate from Hatboro High School in 1953. Affectionately known as “Patty” to her friends and classmates, she participated in Band for 3 years, Softball, Glee Club and finished in the National Honor Society. Her love for music took her to Temple University’s Private Organ Institute. Patricia continued as an Accountant and Director of Church Music Ministry at the Mount Calvary United Methodist Church in West Hanover Pa for many years. Patricia was the organist and choir director for the Senior/Junior choirs as well as directing many plays with the Youth Fellowship Programs. Patricia had a love for needlecraft, gardening, choral keyboard music and her beloved “Mountain House”
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years Richard L. Currey. Her parents, Harry E. Bangs and Arvilla (Ostien) Bangs and her sister Jean Bangs Chara, of California.
Surviving are her 3 children, Scott (Cindy) Currey, Lisa Ward and Chriss (Victor) Restagno. Patricia adored her 4 grandchildren and their many sports and activities. Colton and Lauren Currey and Lindsey and Matthew Ward.
To honor our mother’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. We invite you to celebrate Patricia’s memory with family and friends, on July 19, 2024, between 6pm to 8pm at the Cremation Society of Pennsylvania. 4100 Jonestown Road, Harrisburg, Pa. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Cemetery with immediate family on July 20, 2024
