It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Patti Jo (Grimm) Johns of Denver, Pennsylvania who died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family and friends on June 26, 2026 after a brave and courageous battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).
Patti brought so much joy to those who knew her and lived each day to the fullest. She was born into this world on September 11, 1970 to Joseph and Kathleen Grimm (Reed) of Lykens, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Upper Dauphin Area High School in 1988 and received an associate degree from Central Penn College in 1990. Patti went on to have a rewarding career in the administrative offices supporting student success for several area schools.
She is survived by her husband Tim Johns and two sons, Dominic and Parker who were all a source of strength, love and devotion, her parents, Kathleen and Joseph Grimm, brother Joseph Grimm and wife Cindy, sister JoAnn (Grimm) Barnes with whom she had an inseparable bond and husband Kenneth. She was also blessed with many wonderful friends, cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Patti’s greatest joy was with her family as she was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, niece and friend. Above all else, Patti cherished her two sons. She was happiest when the house was full, treating her boys’ friends with the same fierce devotion she had for her own two boys. She loved going to the beach, country line dancing, and spending time with her husband, friends and family. Patti had a radiant and joyful spirit, and she will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Her family asks that she be remembered for the kindness and love she demonstrated in her life and not her passing. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Serenity Hospice for their compassionate care and support during Patti’s final months. The family would also like to thank the Burkholder Family Foundation for their generous donations and charity event held in Patti’s honor.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ALS Association, www.als.org or the Burky’s Believe Foundation, burkysbelievefoundation.com, in remembrance of Patti.
