

Phyllis Ellen Lieb, 73, of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024. She was born on May 22, 1951, in Washington, D.C., to Herbert and Mildred (Chamison) Lieb. Phyllis grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland, attended Wheaton High School (class of 1969) and graduated from the University of Maryland in 1973. She began her career in early childhood education before transitioning to a role as a pharmacy technician. Later, she leveraged her diverse professional background to become a paralegal specializing in environmental litigation with a prominent New Jersey law firm. In 1991, Phyllis embarked on her most cherished role when she became a foster mother to Mark Jackson, whom she adopted in 1995. Throughout her life, Phyllis demonstrated remarkable independence, adaptability and resilience. She had a kind and thoughtful heart, and took great pride in maintaining deep connections with many close lifelong friends. She was an enthusiastic traveler and camper, finding joy in outdoor adventures. Music was a constant companion in her life, and she treasured gatherings with family and friends. Her home was always warmed by the presence of her beloved dogs, who were cherished members of her family throughout the years. Phyllis is survived by her son Mark Lieb; siblings Debbie Boehm, Sherri Durr, and David Lieb; and her cherished nieces and nephew.
