Richard J. Groft

Born December 2, 1927, in Hanover, Pa., he was the son of the late Earl and Minerva (Strausbaugh) Groft.

Richard was a veteran of the United States Army and also served in the Pennsylvania National Guard.

Richard was retired from Cole Steel in York, Pa.

Richard is survived by one son, Jeffrey L. Groft and his wife Cindy Marchio Groft; 3 grandsons, Lee Groft, Joel Groft and PJ Groft and their spouses; 6 great grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Ripeon, two brothers, Fred Groft and Burnell Groft. He was preceded in death by one brother, Earl Groft

A mass to remember and celebrate Richard's life will be held Saturday, October 10, 2015, 1:00 PM, at St. Joseph Parish, 5055 Grandview Rd. Hanover PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Richard's name to the charity of your choice.

A special thanks to the staff of Homewood at Plum Creek for the loving care and attention given to Richard throughout his stay.
