Richard L. Painter

Richard L. Painter, 85, of Middletown, died unexpectedly on May 2, 2010, at Hershey Medical Center. He was born July 14, 1924, in Royalton, PA and was the son of the late Roy and Julia Painter. He served in the Army Air Corp in WW II in the Pacific Theater. He was employed at the Olmstead Air Force Base and the Carpenter's Local 287. He was a member of the American Legion Post 594.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marie, of 45 years. His son, Alan R. Painter and wife Becky of Cary, NC, his daughters Susan B. Painter of Baltimore, MD and Julia L. wife of Martyn R. Nevil of Middletown, PA. His sister Florence M. Souders of Middletown, nephew Ronald Bamberger of Elizabethtown, PA, along with long time family friend Carol Fling of Baltimore, MD.

Richard is also survived by four grandchildren, Stephen Painter and wife Regina of Waynesville, NC, Andrew Painter of Cary, NC, Abigail and Timothy Nevil of Middletown, PA.

Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
