

He was born on July 26, 1922 in Penbrook, PA, the son of the late Irvin and Ruth (Alleman) Pletz.
He retired as a Telecommunications Officer for the PA Dept. of Revenue.
Mr. Pletz was formerly a water safety instructor and was active in the Scouts.
He was a member of the Susquehanna Valley Evangelical Free Church and was a WWII Navy Veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Jacqueline A. (Ritchie) Pletz; 4 sons, Robin D. and his wife Mary A. Pletz of Chicago, IL, Richard A. and his wife Tricia A. Pletz of Pittsburgh, Craig I. "Kip" and his wife Patricia Pletz of Ephrata, and Bryan Scott Pletz of Penbrook; a daughter, Barbara G. and her husband Thomas R. McGarvey of Newville; his brother James A. Pletz of Wilmington, DE; 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 2 grandsons, Anthony M. McGarvey and Matthew Vincent Pletz.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at the Susquehanna Evangelical Free Church, 6433 Union Deposit Rd, Harrisburg, PA 17111. The Rev. Randy L. Hunt will be officiating.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
Burial will be in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his church.
Zimmerman-Auer Funeral Home, Inc., Harrisburg, will be handling the arrangements.
