
Born April 26, 1940, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Thomas Stitt and Helen Marie (Henry) Stitt.
Mr. Stitt was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He retired from Lake Chevy and enjoyed watching Penn State Football and the Pittsburgh Steelers, as well as spending time at the mountains and being at the lake. Richard was a member of the Moose Lodge, City Hook & Ladder, and the Yeagertown Fire Co. where he would meet up with his buddies. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandson, Brayden.
Surviving are his children, Richard A. Stitt, Matthew Stitt and wife Connie, Daniel Stitt, Ellen (Stitt) Detman and husband Jon, and Todd Stitt and wife Pam; grandchildren, Brayden Stitt, Travis Stitt and wife Courtney, Chelsa Stitt and Eddie Kepner; great grandchildren, Khloe, Zayden, and Sophie; sisters, Janet Heller, Vonda Stitt, Judy Peace and husband Donald, Carol Quay and husband Russell; and brother, James Stitt and wife Nancy. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Stitt; and a sister, Patt (Ritter) Stitt.
Per his wishes, there will be no services. He wanted to be cremated and for his children to scatter his ashes. Arrangements by Cremation Society of Pennsylvania, Inc.
