Robert Charles Fultz, Jr. of Grantville, PA passed away peacefully in his sleep Thursday May 29, 2025 after 91 years of devoted service to his God, family, and church community. We are elated at the thought that he is happily reunited with his first and forever love Shirley Elizabeth after 5 painful years apart when she preceded him in death in 2020.
Bob was born to Robert Charles and Josephine Lavinia Fultz (nee Lash) in Snyder County, Pennsylvania in 1934. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved his family and his work. As a proud member of the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) Local 143 for 60 years, Bob had a long career as a master electrician. He and his sons also ran R.Fultz and Sons Building and Remodeling together.
He and Shirley married in 1953 and had eight children (5 sons, 3 daughters), He taught his children how to work hard, serve others, and most importantly how to find the joy and humor in life. Bob was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Harrisburg/Hershey Ward (congregation). He loved to share his faith in Jesus Christ with others. Bob and Shirley served together as temple workers in the Washington DC Temple. Their unwavering faith in their Savior and His promises of eternal life and eternal families is the light that reminds those of us he has left behind that he is not truly gone from us and that we will be together again in Jesus Christ.
Bob is survived by his children Kathleen Mae (Richard Yiengst, deceased), Susan Marie (Michael O'Daly), Robert Charles, III (Sandra Rhiney), Russell Eugene (Connie Bratina), Patricia Ann (Kermit Binkley), John Clair, and Timothy Scott (Tina Shertzer), 30 grand-children, 72 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren and his sister Cheryl Jane (Donn Forsyth). He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley Elizabeth Barbour Fultz, great-grandson, Shane Fultz, father, Robert Charles Fultz, Sr., mother, Josephine Lavenia Lash, Brothers, William Clair Fultz (Cynthia Alleman) and George Leslie Fultz (Sandra L Gerard), and his sister, Karen Grace Fultz.
His son Kenneth Dean (Marla Seibert) passed away in February of 2025 and we rejoice in their quick reunion.
The family is deeply grateful for the support and kindness of the staff at the Homeland Center in Harrisburg. Thank you for loving our Dad and Pappy as much as we do.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025 at 10:30 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4788 Union Deposit Road, Harrisburg, PA 17111. Viewing from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the church. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
