Robert Leon Miller

Robert L Miller, 87 of Williamsport, PA passed away Wednesday November 20, 2024, a short-term resident of The Williamsport Home. Born on December 3, 1936 in York Pa to Claire and Countess (Cline) Miller. Graduating from William Penn High School. After high school, Bob served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force with training at Lowry AFB, Colorado. Then NCO Preparatory Academy at Plattsburg AFB, NY. Upon his discharge Bob then resided in Rome NY where he met his wife, Anne. Whom he shared 39 years of marriage until her death in 2012. He was Assistant Manager of W.T. Grants, in Utica, NY. In 1975 being transferred to Williamsport, Pa. When W.T. Grants closed for good, he worked for Bryfogle’s Greenhouse Muncy as Retail Sales Manager, helping to style the new Lycoming Mall’s interior with real plants. He then went into self-employment as a furniture refinisher, restorer, and builder, called Bob’s Sawdust Productions. Making beautiful pieces of furniture, toys and gifts for family and sales. He was a Charter member of Williamsport Guild of Craftsmen, a member in good standing of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Williamsport. Serving his church and community with meals and serving on their church board.

Preceded in death by Anne Gruber Miller his wife of 39 years. Survived by a daughter Jill Anne (Matthew) Shuman, Williamsport. Two grandchildren Lesley Shuman (Williamsport) and Andrew Shuman (Tennessee). Bob is survived by 4 siblings; brothers Jere’, Jerry (Lori), Chuck, (Janet), and sister Yvonne (Gary) Cable; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will December 14th, private comital service at 11 am. Public service at 11:30, at St Mark’s Lutheran Church, Williamsport, Pa.
