Roderick E. Minaya

On Saturday, June 24, 2017 Roderick E. Minaya, 71, passed away. He will be missed by many friends, colleagues and family. He was a talented musician, chess player, pool player, spelling bee champion and softball umpire. He loved to read and enjoyed spending time at Carlisle Senior Center with friends. He was a member of the Carlisle United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Huntingdon Area High School, Class of 1963. He has an Associate’s Degree from Harrisburg Area Community College and a Bachelor’s Degree from Penn State University at Harrisburg. He served honorably in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany.

He is survived by his daughter Theresa Kruid; four sons, Matthew, Mitchell, Michael, Marshall Minaya; and 3 grandchildren. His brothers Curt and Rich Minaya, and his sister-in-law Barb Minaya. He was predeceased by his parents Edmund and Joanne Minaya and his brother Jed Minaya.

Services will be held at a private ceremony at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Carlisle Area Public Library or Senior Center.
