Russell W. Knapp

Born August 23, 1933, in West Hanover Twp., he was son of the late Russell W. and Orpha (Bell) Knapp.

He was a very dedicated member of the Colonial Park Fire Company for over 63 years. He will be greatly missed by his Fire Company family. During his working years, he was a mechanic for construction and farm equipment and worked for Groff Tractor. Russell also enjoyed hunting, camping, fixing tractors-especially International Harvesters, and he loved spending time with his beloved grandchildren who were his world.

In addition to his wife, surviving are 2 sons, Russell W. Knapp III and Ronald Knapp and his wife, Carol; a daughter, Kathryn Knapp; 2 grandchildren, Victoria Judd and husband, Brandon, and Andrew Knapp and wife, Kim; a great-grandson, Brandon Judd; a brother, Earl Knapp and his wife, Nancy; a sister, Dorothy Goodyear; his step-mother, Catherine (Koons) Knapp; and many nieces and nephews.

An evening viewing will be held Tuesday, December 8, 2015, 6-8:00 p.m. at Zimmerman-Auer Funeral Home, Inc., 4100 Jonestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17109.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 9, 2015, 10:00 a.m., at the funeral home with Pastor Richard Geib officiating. Interment will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens following the service.
