

Seward worked as a tool and die maker with Progressive Service in Harrisburg. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Union. He was a member of the Cumberland Valley Antique Engine and Machinery Association for 30 years. He was a member of the Seven Mountains Bluegrass Association and enjoyed attending concerts. Seward served in the Air Force National Guard for three years. In his retirement he and his wife Audrey attended many country music performances throughout the region. He also enjoyed cutting and splitting firewood which he sold. He was known for his ability to repair tractors and many of his friends and acquaintances appreciated his skill. For many years, he helped make Easter eggs at Salem United Methodist Church where he was in charge of running the candy press.
Seward was predeceased by his wife of 63 years Katherine Audrey (Rotering) Hutton; his parents and his brother, Floyd Hutton.
His memory will be forever held in the hearts of his surviving family: his daughter, Lisa Hutton of San Diego, CA; his sister, Edith Rehm of Mechanicsburg; his sister-in-law Sandra Estep of Lewisberry; his cousins, Addie Mae Sels of Manhattan; John Good of Long Island, and Dr. Susan Brenner of Kentucky. Seward Edwin Hutton will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, and friend.
Memorial Services will be held Monday September 23, 2024 at 11AM, at Fishing Creek Salem United Methodist Church 402 Valley Rd. Etters, PA 17319.
