

Susan Koch-Dunbar, 64, of Ashland, formerly Carbon County, passed to her heavenly home on Sunday, July 14th at Geisinger Hospital in Danville, Montour County, PA.
She was the wife of the late Marvin T. Dunbar.
Born in Palmerton, PA, April 13, 1960, she was the daughter of Robert and Barbara (Beers) Koch.
Susan was a graduate of Lehighton High School, Class of 1978.
She was an avid flute player and played with The Parryville Band. In her youth she worked at Walck’s Restaurant in Parryville and Paris Neckwear & Accessories in Slatington. From there Susan went on to become a CNA. Susan went on to obtain a specialized diploma from Northampton County Community College which led her to become a Direct Support Professional at both ReDCo and LifePath, later becoming a supervisor. Susan was also very involved with Special Olympics. Being with and helping individuals with disabilities was a calling she excelled at.
Susan was predeceased by her husband Marvin T. Dunbar, her younger brother Bryan Scott Koch and sister in law, Connie Griffith (wife of Ricky Koch).
She is survived by her daughter Nicole, brother Ricky, grandchildren, step-children and step-grandchildren, and sister-in-law Elizabeth Koch.
A celebration of life for Susan will be held August 25th at Mauch Chunk Lake Park, Ginter Pavilion from 10 am to 8 pm, as per Susan’s wishes to have family and friends gather together. It will be picnic style. Any covered dishes or snacks are appreciated.
