
William "Bill" Elliott, 87, of 10 Dubson Circle, Denver, PA passed away peacefully on September 27 in Ephrata Community Hospital. Born in Towanda, he was the son of Edward and Hazel Jennings Elliott. Bill was married to Lawanda (Kilmer) Elliott for 63 years. Bill graduated from T.H.S. class of '41. He worked at Citizens Bank before enlisting in the Army Air Force during WWII. He served 4 years in the South Pacific. On his return home, he was employed by Dupont Co. He retired in 1981 after almost 36 years. He was a former 50 year member of Towanda Methodist Church; Golden years club of Ephrata; and V.F.W. Adamstown. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and woodworking making toys and donation them to various organizations for the children. He is survived by his wife Lawanda, 1 daughter Dawn Landis of Robesonia; 2 sons Lawrence married to Elaine of Towanda; and Ronald of Lebanon, PA. Grandchildren are Brian Elliott of Millersville, PA; Nichole Kang of Norristown; Aaron Landis of Womelsdorf; Justin, Jesse, and Colin Elliott of Tucson, AZ; nephews Wayne Crayton of Montana, Joel Crayton of Towanda and Robert Fries of CA, and 3 great grandchildren in Tuscson, AZ. Preceding him in death is daughter Patricia Elliott, sisters Irene Crayton and Mary Louise Fries. Donations may be made to Towanda Methodist Church, Towanda Library or Cancer Society.
