Born in Steelton on October 22, 1940, Bill spent his entire life in the Harrisburg area and proudly knew it like the back of his hand. He even enjoyed some early fame in his native city as a teen singing star on the 'Horace Heidt and His Musical Knights' TV show in his youth.
He was a walking, talking encyclopedia of sports trivia, facts and figures. He loved all sports, especially professional baseball where he adored Mickey Mantle as well as college football and his beloved Alabama Crimson Tide. He will, without a doubt, be looking for Coach Bear Bryant in Heaven.
Bill was an avid walker and enjoyed talking with everyone. He had a preternatural ability for remembering any numbers and could recite anyone's birth date without hesitation.
He was a religious man and his family is sure he is at peace with his Maker and all of his old friends, companions, and family.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Danielle, his sister, Patty, and his two nephews, Duane and Scott. The family will be holding a private service.
