Betty, a proud 100% pure Norweigan, was born in Fort Collins, Colorado on May 27, 1929; but was raised in Willmar, Minnesota from the age of 2 when her family relocated back “home.” To those who knew and loved her, the often used Norweigan word uffda may come to mind. This one word expresses an array of emotions from surprise, dismay, relief or exhaustion. Betty enjoyed living the military life with her husband, traveling to new places, making new and forever friends along the way. Retirement from the Air Force led to a final move to Louisiana where she and her husband enjoyed living the country life. During this time, she developed a passion for refinishing and restoring antique furniture.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred and Clarence Larson; husband Buford “Zeke” Lavespere; sons, Thomas Ford and Bruce Lavespere; sisters, Carole Yanacheak and Maxine Fuhler and brother, Buster Larson.
Betty is survived by her brother, Richard Larson (Linda); daughters, Diane MacDonald (Jim) and Nancy Ford (CJ); grandchildren, Michelle Norcross (David), Brent MacDonald (Ashley), Joshua Lavespere (Kyla), Joel Lavespere (Amy) and Aaron Lavespere (Angela) and 13 great grandchildren.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Belinda Jones, Laverne Nash and the Nightingale Hospice staff, especially Rosie Ball, Stacy Fayard and Elizabeth Ferguson, the amazing and wonderful caregivers who showed loving and compassionate care to our mother.
