BOYCE, LA – Services celebrating the life of Debora Sue Murray will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 23, 2018 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Pastor Will Sherman officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, March 22, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Debora was born August 29, 1955 in Victoria, TX to Hilda Pennington of Columbia, Mississippi and Dennis L. Barber of Kokomo, Mississippi. Debora graduated from Boyce High School in 1973 and after the birth of her son in the mid 1970's, moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. After her daughter was born in the late 1970’s, Debora began a career in the gaming industry. In 1994, Debora moved to Bossier City, LA where she opened the Isle of Capri. In 1997, Debora left the gaming industry all together and began a career in real estate. In 2000, Debora joined Keller Williams and spent the next 15 years working as a Regional Director and Team Leader in Market Centers across the country. Debora's ability to recognize talent, combined with her passion for teaching and training, became her life’s passion. Debora actively participated in the associate based charity, KW Cares, whose focus is assisting those in times of crisis. In her personal life, Debora cherished her friends and family and tirelessly supported them. She especially enjoyed family get togethers at the beach and during the holidays. She loved cooking outdoors, gardening, and fishing.
Debora was preceded in death by her father Dennis L. Barber, her brother Louis Barber, and her granddaughter Cameron Marie Langston.
Debora is survived by her husband of 13 years, Tim Murray, son Scott Floyd and daughter Kelly Floyd Langston, her grandsons Jackson Floyd, John Anthony Langston, granddaughters Audrey Floyd, Aiden Langston, Kennedy Langston, and sons-in-law, James Willett and Will Langston. Debora is also survived by her mother Hilda Barber, sisters, Cathy Norris, Cindi Garcia, Mary Thomas, brother Dan Barber, her loving brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Scott Floyd, Jackson Floyd, John Anthony Langston, James Willett, Pat Norris and Jason Pigott.
