A Private family Memorial Service will be held Saturday, Nov. 28 at Hill Crest Memorial.
Kiyoko was born May 13, 1938, in Omuta City, Japan, to Seiyemon Makise and Yukie Yoshida Makise. At the age of 21, she was permitted by the American Consulate, the City of Omuta, and the military Base Chapel to marry John Harvey Reser on July 6, 1959. Their first assignment as a married couple was at Itazuke Air Base, Japan. Over John’s 27-year Air Force career, they would be stationed at 13 different locations around the world. During their last assignment and until her retirement, Kiyoko found much joy serving the children of Bossier Parish Schools as a cafeteria employee at Meadowview Elementary school.
Kiyoko had a full life. She is survived by: her husband, Chief MSgt. John H. Reser, USAF (Ret.); her two children, Suzette Kay Reser Hadden and husband Lt. Col. Dave Hadden, USAF (Ret.) and MSgt John Reser, Jr., USAF (Ret.) and wife Jennifer; her five grandchildren, Joshua Hadden, Christopher Ekberg, Emiley Reser Chiasson, Jon David Hadden, and John Austin Reser. In addition, she leaves four great grandchildren, Jude, Piper Kay, and Rhett Hadden, and Graham Chiasson. She was preceded to heaven by: her father and mother, three sisters, two brothers, her favorite aunt and uncle, and a community of good friends.
Family was always first in Kiyoko’s life but she also loved to travel and see the west. Her favorite site was the plateaus of Arizona. During her 61 years of marriage, Kiyoko traveled extensively with her family, and her husband John was always by her side.
We love you mom. Until we can be together again, we will celebrate your birth and continue our family Sunday gatherings.
