

Virginia Lucille Tomb was born on August 8, 1938 in Shreveport, LA. She passed away after a prolonged struggle with Alzheimer’s. Services for Virginia will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, Haughton, LA. Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. preceding the service.
She loved flowers and gardening. She also enjoyed scrapbooking and working in the Craft Shop at Ellsworth AFB, SD. Virginia was a pillar in her community and church. She was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother. She gave so much of her time to enrich the lives of others. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, son Charles Glenn Tomb and grandson Jason Waldrop.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years Charles E. Tomb; daughters, Cynthia Baker (Dennis), Terri Jean Ferrer, daughter-in-law Patricia Tomb, grandchildren David Herrera, Rebecca Mumbower, Omar Ferrer, Christopher Baker, Joey Tomb and Anthony Tomb and numerous great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
Pallbearers will be David Herrera, Christopher Baker, Dennis Baker, Justin Mumbower, Treyton Baker and Jason Kunauth. Honorary pallbearers are Dalton Merritt and Morgan Brian.
The family would like thank St. Joseph’s Hospice in Shreveport for Dr. David Nelson and his team, Jeannie Hay, Mary Durham, Tonnette Williams, Rose, Courtney and Linda Cox. Also a special thanks to Patricia Tomb for her help feeding and taking care of Charles Tomb during this difficult time.
