An incredible woman whose strength and compassion are unparalleled. As a young mother in her late twenties she spent most of WWII in a Japanese prison camp in Indonesia. An environment plagued by starvation, death, and regular beatings. Through her strength, courage, and compassion, her spirit could not be broken. This was a defining moment in her life. She took her pain and memories and vowed to live a life full of love, laughter, and friendship. She practiced non violence, tolerance, and tried to help as many people as she could. Hennie used to say, "Family is a haven of tenderness in a world without a heart" Let us not lose sight of who Hennie was and try and honor her life by following her examples.
She will be missed by her family, friends, and all the people she touched during her time here. Her granddaughter Tonya would like to thank Delta Hospice for all their support and love during her grandmother's final year.
We wish Hennie a good journey and will see her in the afterlife.
