Anita Giron Dizon’s winning presence allowed her to take control of various situations with ease. She possessed a strong-willed, “take charge” attitude. In her 20s, Anita was committed to living the “American Dream”. Leaving her parents and siblings in the Philippines, she migrated to a tiny island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean in 1966. Not knowing anyone or what lay ahead, Anita landed in Saipan to begin her new life. Here, "Nette" found true love and exchanged wedding vows with Ernesto C. Dizon at the Court of Saipan, Marianas Islands on October 10, 1970.
Her parents were Maximo and Consolacion Giron. "Nette" was raised in Bulacan, Philippines. Raised a devout Catholic, she was optimistic in her outlook on life and was able at all times to be open and direct in her communication. Armed with a great wit, "Nette" was accepting of others and able to implement a strong personal work ethic, excelling, and broadening her skillset and relocated to the United States Territory of Guam in 1971.

Known to others as a focused, logical, open-minded and somewhat driven individual, "Nette" was able to utilize these qualities to succeed in high school. Her curious nature was spurred by her ability to maximize her personal learning style through employing a hands-on approach. She was good with English, mathematics, and had an excellent memory. In 1954, she graduated from Mapa High School in the Philippines. Shortly after, Anita earned her Associate Degree in Commercial Science from Philippine College of Commerce.
Friends and acquaintances found "Nette" an easy woman to befriend, and those close to her would often praise her open, practical style of communication and relaxed approach to life in general. She was employed for Bank of America,
Chase Manhattan Bank, and the Archdiocese of Agana on Guam.
"Nette" enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. Her favorite pursuits were gardening, line dancing, and watching her grandchildren’s baseball, basketball, flag football, soccer, and volleyball games. She especially loved to take stats at her grandson’s baseball games. An amatuer stamp
and coin collector, Anita also spent her rest time watching programs on the Filipino channel.
"Nette" held close traditional values and as a result, faith was important to her. She was a member of Catholic Churches all of her life and some of them were Santa Barbara Parish and Dulce Nombre de Maria Cathedral Basilica on Guam and more recently St. Thomas More and St. Peter in Henderson, NV.
During that time, she offered donations to numerous charities, St. Jude and various religious organizations.
Travel and vacations were experiences that "Nette" truly enjoyed. She preferred to seek out excitement wherever she went and she was partial to vacations that were casual and laid back with an atmosphere of “live and let live.” She was willing to leave her plans open and flexible, just in case something more interesting came along. Favorite vacations included Canada, New York, and the Philippines. She also enjoyed her grandson’s weekend tournaments in Arizona, California, and Utah.
When "Nette"’s retirement finally came in 2004, she was well prepared. She enjoyed a permanent relocation to Las Vegas with her husband to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Spending much of her time having fun and being relaxed, she found new pleasure in attending the senior center, line dancing, and workouts with other senior friends.

She enjoyed her life and the experience of living it. This is
how everyone will remember the loving woman who was a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, and a friend. We were blessed to know you and will miss you, Anita Giron Dizon.
