James was born in Madison, Wisconsin while his parents were attending graduate school. He spent much of his childhood in both the Las Vegas area and in Lakewood, Colorado. He attended high school in Portland, Oregon and graduated from Wilson HS in 1991. In 1998, he returned to the Las Vegas area to help his mother care for his stepfather. He worked at various TV channels as a Master Control Operator.
In October, 2005, he married the greatest person ever for him, Leslie Bilbay. They were the best fit for each other that could have been imagined. Because of their shared sense of all things, they were married on Halloween at a drive thru wedding chapel. A short time later, just after Thanksgiving, they had another ceremony for family and friends.
At the end of August, 2018, he became gravely ill, and spent the last 45 days of his life in hospitals here in Clark County.
James is survived by his special love, Leslie, his mother and aunt, who also live in Henderson, two sisters, one in Oregon and one in Colorado, a cousin, Michael and his family in California, his special cat friend, Boo, and dozens of extended family friends in Oregon and Nevada, and across the country.
