Lenoir – Betty Jean McGhinnis Kiziah, 89 of Lenoir went home to be with her Lord on Monday, August 2, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.
Born on September 11, 1931 in Caldwell County. Betty was the daughter of the late Richard Austin McGhinnis and Hazel Nelson Houck. She was employed by Century Chair in Longview, NC for over 35 years. Betty loved to bake and spending time with family. She will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded by her daughter, Lynn Teasley, and a son, Todd Teasley. She is also preceded in death by her husbands, Loyde Teasley, Sr., Bennie Ray Roame, Wade Minton, and John Kiziah.
She is survived by a daughter, Sherry Huff and husband Terry of Hickory; a son, Loyde (Buzzy) Teasley, Jr., of Bloomington, IN; a daughter, Kellie Bynum of Newton; a daughter, Kimmie Rogers and husband Scott of Lenoir; and a daughter, Khristy Steele of Lexington; 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Catawba Funeral Home on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Phil Case officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Amorem, formerly known as Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Betty’s name.
