Carl Henry Lail

NEWTON— Carl Henry Lail, 92 passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Catawba Valley Medical Center.Born in Catawba County on March 11, 1924 to the late Herbert Eugene and Elmina Luella Hawn Lail. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Catherine Mitchell Lail, his second wife Minnie Fortenbury Lail; his brothers Lee Lail, Fred Lail and Lester Lail. Carl is survived by his daughters Carolyn Mann and husband Gary of Conover; Phyllis Hood and husband Bryan of Vale, Ruth Weaver and husband Mike of Newton, Rebecca Moffett of Hickory and Carla Lail of Hickory; 14 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; step-daughters Peggy Bostain and husband Roger, Sherry Stilwell and husband Steve all of Hickory; step-sons Conley Lowman and wife Becky and Jeffery Lowman ad wife Terry all of Hickory; 7 step- grandchildren and 13 step-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 from 12:30 pm to 1:45 pm at St. Stephens Lutheran Church Mo-Synod. The funeral will be Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 2:00 pm at St. Stephens Lutheran Church Mo-Synod with Pastor David Guelzow and Pastor David Ziehr officiating.
