She was born on August 9, 1935 to the late Hal Rae Frye and Vera Butts Frye in Catawba County. Evelyn was a member of Huntington Hills Church of God. She loved going to church, attending her Bible study, and spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Todd Frye (Teresa) of Claremont; grandchildren, Marie Frye Moretz (Kyle) of Catawba, Derick Frye of Claremont; great grandchildren, Karigan and Kadence Moretz; brother, Danny Frye (Joyce) of Hickory, sisters; Trenia Monk (Harry) of Newton, Karen Wilkerson (Hugh) of Hickory; brother, Lynn Frye (Linda) of Conover; Mary Frye of Conover, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 7 at 3:00 p.m. at Huntington Hills Church of God. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 until 2:45 at the church. Pastor Harvey Turner will be officiating the service. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will include, Derick Frye, Kyle Moretz, Andrew Carney, Noah Carney, Rich Carney, Zeke Helms.
