Janice Penley Ammons, 80, passed away Monday, July 5, 2021 at W.F.B.H. High Point Medical Center following several years of declining health.
Janice was born in Kingsport, TN, February 16, 1941, a daughter of the late John and Sarah Patrick Penley. She worked at Alma Desk for over thirty years. Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Ammons, her son, Samuel Locklear and six siblings. She was loving person and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Surviving are three children, Carolyn Perdue and her husband Johnny, Gene Locklear and David Ammons; a sister, Nellie Updike; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and her favorite niece, Susan Hill.
A Celebration of Janice's life will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. in the Sechrest-Davis Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 until 8:30 p.m.
