Col. Theron Arnell Bracey Jr. passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021. Theron was born in Nashville, TN on January 14, 1942 to the late Theron Arnell Bracey Sr. and Lois Ann Troupe Bracey. Col Bracey graduated from Columbia Military Academy and received a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm. D.) from the University of Tennessee Pharmacy School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Gulf War. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Jo Ann Galyon Bracey; daughters, Tonja Vazquez (Alex) and Lisa “Cee Cee” De Fur; grandchildren, Zach Vazquez, Olivia Vazquez, Nick Vazquez, Paige Cowden (Shayne), and Amanda De Fur; and great grandchild, Xander Cowden. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 12th from 4-7 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel in Hixson. There will be a graveside service with honors at Chattanooga National Cemetery on Monday, September 20th at 12:30 pm. Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson. Please share your thoughts and memories at

Theron was a great husband, father, Christian and patriot….He loved his Lord, his family, his country, and his church. Faithfulness and loyalty were the hall marks of a life well llived…..I loved him as Pastor and miss him….
