Concepcion was born in Ciego de Avila, Cuba to Adolfo Montes and Elena Aluart on April 22nd, 1939. She married Manuel Lopez in Ciego de Avila on August 30, 1959. They were married 30 years until she became his widow in 1990. She and her family moved to Spain in 1970 and by 1974 they moved to the U.S. where they made a home in Villa Park, IL. Concepcion and Manolo went on to work for Motorola. Concepcion retired from Motorola after working with them for well over a decade.
Concepcion’s greatest joy was her family. While she became a widow at the age of 50, she never considered another relationship. She loved and celebrated the success of her children and grandchildren.
Concepcion is survived by her son, Lazaro Lopez; daughter, Esther Lopez; sister Maria Galve; brothers, Noel Montes, Jose Ramon Montes and Ricardo Montes; grandchildren Corinne Lopez, Lucas Lopez and Kelly Lopez.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 4 pm to 10 pm on Monday, May 6th at Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home, in Davie FL.
