Lorraine Mede Ferguson

Lorraine Mede Carter was born in Harlem, NY to Edith Carter and Orick Robinson on 4/29/40.She graduated Taft High School in 1959 and later met the late Calvin McIntyre and had a daughter GretaCarter. Eventually she moved to Queens, NY where she attended a Certified Nursing School and laterwas employed at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, NY in 1974. There she met and marriedNehemiah Ferguson on September 3, 1989. After working twenty-five years, they decided theirretirement destination would be the Sunshine State Hollywood, Florida, where they enjoyed thebeautiful weather and slower lifestyle.

They became dedicated members of Holiness Born Again Church, under the leadership of Pastor James,and developed lifelong friendships with many brothers and sisters of the church whom she loved beingaround. When she lost her husband January 2018 and her health had deteriorated, she moved to AristaCare Nursing home in New Jersey. Lorraine was surrounded by her family when GOD called her name tocome home.

All whom knew Lorraine can testify, she always had the spirit of an Angel. Not quick to get angry aboutanything at all. She had a great love for all her family and friends. She loved life and fought the goodfight even when life was not easy. She made the best of what would seem to many to be sooverwhelming. She taught us how not to despair, tomorrow will be a better day. She kept the faith tothe very end.

Lorraine is preceded in death by her husband Nehemiah Ferguson. She leaves cherishedmemories to her daughter Greta Williams (husband Kevin Williams); Granddaughter Alvina Wimbush(Husband Walter Wimbush); Grandson Kevin A. Williams and Great Grandson Ethan Williams and a hostof cousins and friends who loved her dearly.
