Annette Carol Butero, 84 years old, of Birmingham, Alabama died peacefully surrounded by her loving and devoted family on Saturday, January 6th 2024. She was born in Birmingham, Alabama on July 16, 1939 to the late Mary Frances and Charles Vincent Cataldo.
Annette was a graduate of John Carroll Catholic High School and attended the University of Montevallo. After meeting the love of her life on a blind date, she married Ben in 1961. She retired as the Financial Secretary of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, where she worked for nearly 20 years and was a member since 1968.
Annette was preceded in death by her loving husband of 35 years, Benedict M. Butero, sister Elaine and her husband John Mack, brother Charles Cataldo, sister in law, Lucy Manfredonia, and long time friend, J. Marilyn Left. She is survived by her daughters, Rose Ann Butero-Morrow (Jeff), and Maria Butero Jones (Bill), grandson, Michael Salvatore Jones, granddaughter, Christina Ann Jones, great grandson, Dillon Benedict Jones, her sister Rosalee "Tootsie" Salvago and numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday January 12th from 9:00 am- 11:00 am followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Burial will immediately follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude’s Children's Hospital or the Greater Birmingham Humane Society in her name. We will surely miss our sassy diva.
