June Crump Ousley, otherwise known as “Jammama”, entered into glory with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 94 years of age, on January 17, 2022. A graveside ceremony will be held at 11:00am January 20, at Elmwood Cemetery.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Bill, her sisters, Helen Self and Kate Catanzano, and her parents, Claud and Mable Crump. June was born on June 6,1927, in Labuco, AL and later moved to Birmingham AL. She was a graduate of Ensley High School and worked at Service Bureau/Control Data for most of her life. One of her favorite things to do was go to Alabama football games with her husband Bill and their friends. June was known to all of us as a fun, loving person, who loved spending time with family and friends more than anything. She had a beautiful smile and had a way of encouraging everyone around her. And we can’t forget how she loved all the Weiner dogs in the family. She went on many vacations with her four grandsons and she was always available to play with them. Some of their best memories are with their “Jammama”. June was a member of Vestavia Hills Baptist Church, and faithfully served there for many years.
She is survived by her daughters Beth(Bobby) Carter of Birmingham, AL and Michelle (Rob) Sanders of Bentonville, AR; her grandsons Bert(Lyndsey) Sanders of Bentonville AR, Scott (Amilee) Sanders of Sarasota, FL, Chris(Cyndi) Sanders of Rogers, AR, B.J. (Jill) Sanders of Papua New Guinea; and great grandchildren Benjamin Sanders, William Sanders, Olivia Sanders, Nathan Sanders, Sophie Sanders, Kate Sanders, Graham Sanders, Abigail Sanders, Harper Ann Sanders, and Sammy Sanders. The family would like to thank June’s ProHealth hospice team- Ashley, Leigh, and David; and also her caregiver Cynthia.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of June to Ethnos360, at 312 West First Street, Sanford FL, 32771. Make checks payable to Ethnos360 and include a note stating that the donation is to go to the Wantakia ministry.
