Lewis Kryger passed away on March 17, 2018, peacefully at his home in Pelham, AL, after a courageous battle with lymphoma. He was born on November 14, 1943 to Edward Joseph Kryger, Sr. and Willie Zirlott Kryger, who have preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Carol Crowley Kryger of Pelham, AL, son Brian Kryger (Amy) of Houston, TX, daughter Lynn Freeman (Anthony) of Pelham, AL, six grandchildren: Matthew, Emily, Rebecca, and Sarah Kryger, Kaitlyn and Meredith Freeman, siblings Jackie Kryger, Helen Jo Seaman, Phyllis Johnson, and Ed Kryger, Jr. of Bayou La Batre, AL and numerous nieces and nephews. Lewis taught bi-vocational children for 31 years at the Alabama School for the Blind in Talladega, AL. He was a faithful follower of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, mentor, and teacher. He was a member of Pelham First Baptist Church. He was a former member of First Baptist Church in Talladega, AL. Visitation will be held on March 22, 2018 at Serenity Funeral Home in Theodore, AL from 12:30 – 2:00 PM. A graveside service will follow at Oddfellows Cemetery in Bayou La Batre, AL at 3:00 PM. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Pelham First Baptist Church in Pelham, AL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
