Funeral Service for Mr. William A. Quenelle, 95, of Anniston, AL will be Tuesday October 3rd, 2023 at 11:00 am at Ridout's Valley Chapel, 1800 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, AL 35209. Visitation for family and friends from 10:00am - 11:00 am. Reverend Rick Kaufield of Homewood Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Cemetery in Anniston, AL.
William A. Quenelle was born on November 10, 1927 to Albert Reuben Quenelle and Ida Pauline Quenelle. He was called home to Heaven on September 26th, 2023.
Bill graduated from Anniston High School in 1945 and from Auburn University in 1950 in Chemical Engineering. He was Vice President of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity while at Auburn. He was a WWII Navy veteran and served on the USS Pasadena Light Cruiser. He worked many years at Republic Steel and Miller & Company in Birmingham, AL before retiring. My Dad was a wonderful storyteller, a giver of wisdom, determined, hard working, a loving family man and God's servant. Bill loved to travel and saw Alaska, Canada, Europe, Mexico and most of the United States. He was an avid Auburn fan, attended many games and enjoyed tailgating with friends and family. He attended Homewood Church of Christ for many years until he was physically unable. He worked tirelessly in the church's tape ministry for years.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and wives, Jeanne Boullemet Quenelle and Ann Morris Quenelle. He is survived by his children, William Duff Quenelle, (Deb) and Anne Quenelle Beving, (Terry) and grandson James Hunter Campbell. He is also survived by his sister, Betty Quenelle Collier and nephews, Mike Collier and Steve Collier and niece, Carole Collier Sharp and their children. He is also survived by his step family, Morris Seawel, (Brenda), Dustin, Derek and Erica and their children.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Special Equestrians and King's Ranch organizations.
