Jose G Gomes

Jose G. Gomes, 93, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Thurs., Aug. 31, 2023 at HPH Hospice Care Center in Brooksville, FL. A native of Vila Real, Portugal, Jose was born March 18, 1930 to Jose G. and Virginia (Gomes) DaSilva. Mr. Gomes was an expert and talented carpenter by trade, and as a perfectionist, he was hands on in every project from start to finish. He attended St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Spring Hill, FL and in addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maria Esmeralda, on July 10, 2023 and all of his siblings, in-laws, aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters. Jose’s perfect day would revolve around enjoying a great home cooked meal, visiting and relaxing with his family and friends, and traveling yearly to his homeland of Portugal. He is survived by his daughter, Marlene S. Gomes-Vicente (husband Filipe Vicente), son Jose S. Gomes (fiancé Kim Dubie), granddaughters Krysti M. Gomes (husband Jorge Meija), Vanessa G. Vicente Vu (husband Mike Vu), grandsons Michael Gomes Vicente, Jose K. Gomes and Adrian D. Gomes and great grandchildren Anthony E. and Lucas J. Meija and Cameron V. Vu. Friends will be received on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, Florida.
