

Richard Donald Rochette, Sr., 79, of Lecanto, FL, passed away on July 19, 2017 at his home. A native of South Boston, MA, he was born July 19, 1938 to Leo and Viola (Belisle) Rochette, one of three children. Richard served his country honorably and proudly in the United States Navy during the post Korean War era and moved to Citrus County in 1969 from Titusville, FL. Richard was a retired systems maintenance supervisor for Florida Power Corporation, a career that endured 30 years in service to many power plants in Florida. His hobbies included computers, classic cars and Harley Davidson motorcycles. Mr. Rochette was also a licensed and accomplished gunsmith, specializing in the reloading of ammunition. He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 36 years, Linda G. Rochette, Lecanto, FL; children Debra Sasser (husband James), Orange City, FL; Tammy O’Brien (husband Sean), Homosassa, FL and Richard Rochette II of Texas, as well as children Theresa, Rowland, Tommy, Dawn, Lee and Amy; sister Shirley Harman (husband Fred), Inverness, FL, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Cofield, formerly of Lecanto, FL; a brother, Leo Rochette and two grandchildren. A celebration of Richard's life will be held on Fri., Aug. 4, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Wilder Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Thompson officiating.
