Catherine “Cathy” L Pennington Cantwell, 71, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, went to be with her Heavenly Father on March 17, 2019. She was born June 26, 1947 in San Jose, California. Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Virginia L Pennington of Hot Springs, Arkansas, her sister Ella Lou Harwood, and her brother Harold Pennington.
Cathy is survived by her daughters Debra Eaton-Key (Rick), and Brenda Cantwell-Cochran (David), and son Daren Eaton (Tina); grandchildren Samantha Romero, Jace Robbins, Brinkley Cochran, and Andee Cochran; great-grandchild LauraLy Briggs.
Cathy owned the Magic Mirror Hair Salon and worked as hair dresser for 36 years. She loved working with her cliental and co-workers, which she thought of as family. She was a volunteer and member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 2278 in Hot Springs for many years. Cathy also enjoyed working in her yard, doing home restoration projects, making people laugh with her infectious laughter and quick wit, playing cards and board games, spending time with her beloved dogs Zoey and Mooshu, and cooking Sunday evening dinners for her family. She believed in her family, hard work, having a good sense of humor, and never having self-pity.
A celebration of life will be held 2:00 pm Sunday at Gross Funeral Home in Hot Springs. Memorials may be made to Genesis Cancer Center in benefit of Our Promise Cancer Resources (www.ourpromise.info) or St. Jude’s Children’s Cancer Research (www.stjude.org).
