William R. Grim who was born on June 5th of 1926 and transitioned on December 6th of 2023 was affectionately called Uncle Bob by family and Potsy by his many friends and colleagues here in Hot Springs, AR where he had resided since 1942 having graduated Hot Springs High School in 1944. He went on to enter The United States Army in November of 1944. He was stationed in the Phillipine Islands as well as Japan during WWII until his discharge as a Corporal in November of 1946. William then went on to re enlist yet in The Army reserves from 1948 until 1980 where he was awarded many accommodations and ribbons for his honorable and faithful service to his country. He managed The Lamar Bath house in Hot Springs from 1953 until it closed its doors in 1985. In 1986 he began working part time under Joe Poe the bookkeeper in the county treasurer’s office until 1992. William was a 68 year member of The Lions Club where he served as secretary, secretary to the treasurer, as well as president during his years of service as a Lion.
William was 97 years old at his passing and was predeceased by both his parents Clifton E Grim & Lillian E Grim. His siblings Clifton E Grim II, Vivian L Kitner, Katherine E Campbell, Doris H Grim, and Harley G Grim; nephew Michael Grim and niece Janet Wiser.
He is survived by his nieces and nephews Ann Scott, Joyce Horn, Dennis Grim, Jay Grim, Cliff Grim III, Doris Baldwin, Marcy Campbell, Allen Kitner, Thomas Grim, Rebecca Grim, Linda McCormick, Steve Grim, James Grim, and Peggy Moran.
