Amelia “Patsy” May Kelly, at the age of 88, went home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 19, 2021. She was surrounded by daughter Susan, son Travis, and granddaughter Angie in her home in Port La Vaca as she passed on to her new life in heaven.
On March 31, 1932, Patsy was born to Vincent and Marguerite Santopolo in Houston, Texas.
Patsy married her loving husband, James S. Kelly, on December 12, 1973. They made their home in Houston until James’ passing in 2017. For many years they were faithful members of Grace Community Church, of Spring Valley, in west Houston.
Patsy was a lifelong Astros fan and enjoyed following the careers of Nolan Ryan, Craig Biggio, and Jose Altuve. She also enjoyed playing penny poker and taking shopping trips with her group of girlfriend's of 60 plus years. She was a great cook and many family members and friends enjoyed wonderful meals at her table.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband James Kelly. She was also preceded in death by first husband Whitley Goodman, daughter Kelly Goodman Buhler, grandson Paul Goodman, and great-grandson James Reed Maikoetter.
Patsy was survived by son Travis Goodman Sr.; son Vincent Goodman and his wife Kathy; and daughter Susan Dowell. She was also survived by the children of her late husband James Kelly: daughter Sherri Kelly; son James Kelly and his wife Kim; daughter Kathy Frederick and her husband Bob. Last but never least, Patsy was survived by her thirteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will begin at Noon on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Waltrip Funeral Directors. Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the RL Waltrip Venue. A reception will immediately follow in the Claire Venue.
