Barbara Ann Witkoskie

Barbara Ann Witkoskie passed away on November 1, 2023 at the age of 84. She was born to Joseph & Dorothy Zarychta on April 27, 1939 in Bremond Texas. Her family soon moved to Houston and lived in the Heights for a while, until settling in Oak Forest. There she lived the great majority of her life with her husband of 64 years, Charlie Witkoskie.

She worked at several of the local businesses around the neighborhood where she was a dental receptionist, administrative assistant, and a customer service representative. She attended St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church for many, many years, until her health prevented her from doing so.

Barbara was a very hard worker with a fiery yet caring personality. She enjoyed her independence and her many pets over the years. Holidays with family were very important to her. She devoted her life to her children, but most of all to her grandchildren & greatgrandchild, who were everything to her. If anyone in the family needed anything, “Granny” was always there to help.

She is survived by her daughters Donna LaBarbera and husband Bob, and Sonya Irshad; her Grandchildren Preston LaBarbera and fiancé Shanna Abshire, Sabrina Manto and husband Lee, Zain Irshad, Samara Irshad and fiancé Kike Rodriguez; her Greatgrandchild Kaiya Manto; niece Debra Laughter, and nephew Ronald Zachary.

She is preceded in death by her husband Charlie Witkoskie, parents Joseph & Dorothy Zarychta, and brother William Zachary; her father and mother-in-law, Louis and Pearl Witkoskie, nephew William Zachary Jr., and son-in-law Iqbal “Ronnie” Irshad.

A visitation for Barbara will be held Friday, November 17, 2023 from 10:00 AM at Pat H. Foley & Company, 1200 West 34th Street, Houston, TX 77018. A funeral service will occur Friday, November 17, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Pat H. Foley & Company, 1200 West 34th Street, Houston, TX 77018. A committal service will occur Friday, November 17, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Rd., Houston, TX 77077.
