Beulah's family moved to Texas when she was two, and she considered herself a native Texan. She was a proud graduate of John H. Reagan High School, Class of 1944. She worked as a PBX operator for Wyatt Metal and Boiler works where she met Johnny Redig. They married in 1944 and had three children, Ronnie, Patty and Bubba (John). With the kids in school, she went to work for Spring Branch ISD, retiring after 30 years of service. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, and watching the coastal birds at the bay and the creek. She was an avid Houston sports fan, always excited for fall and the Texans. Beulah cheered on UH Football on Saturdays and would stay up late to see the end of an Astros game.
Her constant companions of 16 years, her cats, Willie and Waylon were a source of great affection, attention, comfort and joy for her. They miss her already. A call or visit would always brighten her day, and there were many, she was never alone.
Preceded in death by her parents, her precious siblings, Clarence, Thelma, Leo, Jo, Ralph, Ada and Millie. She leaves her legacy of faith, laughter and love in the care of her children, Ronnie (Bob), Patty (Ron) and Bubba; grandchildren, Heather (Shade), Heidi (Jason), Hilary (Marvin), Beau, John David (Lauren) and Christopher; and great grandchildren, April, Adam, Ashley, Allison, Alayna, Ross, Gavin, Emily and Travis. As well as many loving nieces and nephews, especially her Wendy. Our sweet Mama passed away surrounded by her family October 4, 2018 at 8:45 PM but she will remain with us forever.
