Mr. Wilhite (the only way I ever referred to him) was my mentor who taught me credit at Sears Pasadena. I had the pleasure of working for him ('57-'62) until I was transferred. I started as a Christmas extra and eventually became his Collection Manager. Long before that, I was the paperboy when the family lived on Bell St. I lived only 2 blocks away. Ironic that a paperboy later became an employee and mentee. I learned quickly not to "argue" with the Boss, emphatically but professionally! I give credit to his teaching for my later success in the banking industry. I will miss him - he was a gentleman, a friend and a good boss.
