Charles graduated from Freeport High School in 1950. He holds a Bachelor in Business Administration degree from the University of Texas and is a Certified Public Accountant. He was a member of the Society of CPA's, the American Institute of CPA's, the Financial Executive Insitute and the American Gas Association Finance Committee. From 1954-1956 Charles served in the U.S. Army in Korea and then returned to the University of Texas.
In 1957, Charles met and fell in love with the love of his life, Dorothy Jean Fasullo and were married November 24, 1957. In 1959, they had a son, Michael Charles, who was their only child and died in 1959. Shortly thereafter, Charles retired from Panhandle Eastern Corp. as Group Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Lasseter; son, Michael Lasseter; his mother and father-in-law, Frank and Lena Fasullo. Charles is survived by his wife, Dorothy Jean; brother, Tom Lasseter and wife Judith; niece, Faye Cluthe and husband Scott; nephew, Ted Lasseter; his wife's sister, Barbara Ann May and husband Garland; niece, Jan McDonald and husband Bud; nephew, Tim May and wife Shari; great nieces and nephews, Ryan Reagan and wife Crystal, Jennifer McDonald, Shelby and Sydney May, Taylor, Rylan and Peyton Reagan.
The family will be receiveing friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Sunday, April 28, 2013 in the Oak Room of Earthman Resthaven. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m, Monday, April 29, 2013 in Chapel of Earthman Resthaven with interment following at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
