Dolores Ann Lahman passed from this life at home on January 15, 2022 at the age of 81. She was born on February 20, 1940 in Lott, Texas. Her Daddy was a Horse trainer and tradesman while her Momma stayed home to raise her children. She had memories of being in the fields with her family picking cotton. In her Elementary years the family moved to the Houston area.
Dolores married Avon Lahman on October 25, 1954. They had four children together along with her stepdaughter. Avon was a truck driver and had his own business for many years. Dolores started her own dog grooming business, DeAnn’s Poodle Parlor, in 1969 and kept it in operation for many years until 1990. She was married to Avon until his passing in March of 2000.
Dolores was always willing to help those in need. She was an Amazing Prayer Warrior that never gave up on her children and others. Through the good and bad times her family and friends knew they could always count on her.
During the span of her life, she gave her of time in many ways that included a Women’s Jail ministry, holding church services in a Nursing home, Children’s church, Vacation Bible School, driving the church van, assisting with the Food Pantry, singing on a radio broadcast on KJOJ, sitting with elderly and special needs people, and numerous other things.
Her life was a life well lived. We will never know the impact of the many lives she has influenced, and the people that have found salvation because of her.
Dolores is preceded in death by her husband: Avon Lahman; children: Clint Lahman, Temmy Lahman, and Kay Lahman; granddaughter: Debbie Strother; great-granddaughter: Makenzie Anne Edgin; parents: John and Odelia Howze; brothers: Truman Howze and Burl Howze; sisters: Nelda Hejl and Jean Ready. Left to cherish her loving memory, son Johnny Lahman & wife Cheryl; daughter Cindy Finney; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sister: Linda Overbay; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
