My mother and Florence became pen pals in 9th grade. They kept in touch for all these years, sending cards, letters with photos and an occasional phone call. In 1977 my mom decided she was going to take our annual summer trip down to Houston to finally meet her long time friend. So mom baked a rhubarb cake as a treat for Florence since rhubarb didn't grow well in TX. We packed our bags and 5 of us into our pick up truck and drove down from MN. I was excited too since Florence had two daughters my age. We had a wonderful time and Florence's hospitality was outstanding. I enjoyed going to Galveston for the day, it was the first time I saw the ocean. I brought my C-110 camera to capture these photos I took, not the best quality. Our mom's shared a few similarities by both having only one sibling, a brother. My mom actually lost a baby sister and I think Florence filled a little part of that void. That is why after meeting your mom, she was so sweet that I decided to call her "Aunt" Florence. They both married husband's name Don, too! Charis and Shauna we have very fond memories of your parents, and I know my mother will truly miss your mom. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. La Verne, Don and family

Florence was a dear cousin of my husband’s father, Berwyn Pisony.
Berwyn shared many fond and loving memories of himself and Florence growing up in the foothills of Southern Alberta. Berwyn tells the story about them getting into mischief and Florence taking the blame so Berwyn didn’t get the strap! She was a loving and caring lady and will be sadly missed.
Our condolences to her Family.
