On Tuesday evening, March 13, 2018 at 7:18pm Gerald at age 88 quietly fell asleep at his home and entered heaven with the Lord waiting for him with open arms. His parents George and Gertrude along with their son moved from Stamford to Navasota, Texas. Navasota is where they placed their roots.
Gerald’s parents owned and operated a General Store in Navasota. George and Gertrude instilled their son to work hard. Educations was key in their life. They taught their son to have respect, loyalty, compassion and treat other how he would like to be treated.
Gerald attended Navasota Elementary, Middle and High School. He went on to attend and graduated from the University of Texas. From there he was drafted into the United Stated Army and fought in combat in the Korean War 1951-1952. Upon his return, he then attended and graduated from South Texas College of Law.
Gerald had a passion with numbers and he became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) for 60 plus years.
Gerald was an avid tennis player for 50 plus years. He was a huge sports fan. A loyal Astros, Rocket, Texans and Dynamo fan.
Gerald was a brilliant man. He leaves behind 2 daughters, 1 son in law, 9 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind many wonderful family and friends. His legacy will forever be in our hearts.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Diaz and parents George and Gertrude Zlotnik and one great grandson Kalt Kelly.
