He was a native Houstonian who served his country in the Navy during Vietnam war in 1968. He was a very strong man and very protective of his family, keeping them safe at all costs. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Minerva Martinez. He had two sons, Glenn Martinez and Paul Martinez. His sister Debra Allman. He took the role of raising his wife’s children, Michael Huffman and Tina Krause.
Glenn worked for Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County as a Safety Supervisor for over 20 years. Not only did he keep his family safe, he also worked to keep the streets safe. Glenn reached the rank of Worshipful Master of the Lorenzo DE Zavala Masonic Lodge and was dedicated in working with the Arabia Shriner’s of Houston, TX. Glenn had a hilarious sense of humor, in his presence you were sure to have a good laugh. He was passionate about music and loved playing the guitar. He loved his Harley and had a blast cruising with his friends. He loved nature and hunting was one of his favorite things to do.
His laughter and strums to his guitar will forever be heard in the hearts of his loved ones. God gained a strong All-American Veteran who stood tall for his country when called on and a loving teddy bear with a big heart, making the best grandfather a kid could ask for. Rest in peace Glenn, on earth we will still enjoy hearing your laughter in the wind and we look forward to meeting you at the gates of Heaven.
